Who doesn’t love a hot cup of coffee on a cold, rainy day? The feeling of pleasure it provides. The awareness. The well-being.

We tend to thrive on coffee as much as our vehicles drive on gasoline and diesel. It is our fuel. However, do we really know what happens to us when we drink this intriguing brown liquid? Many people use coffee to survive throughout the day. But, are we using it right?

I’ve drunk a lot of coffee throughout my student life and at the beginning of my work life. I never took a step back to analyze how it made me feel or realized what all the coffee that I was taking was doing to me.

Espressos, Cappuccinos, Lattes, black coffee… I took every variant seamlessly, without having a personal favorite or a slight idea of which one of them was most appropriate for different occasions.

This article aims to explain what coffee does to us, clarify its virtues and harms, and make you all more aware of what drinking it implies. All of the arguments developed will be backed up by further resources in case you want to dig deeper into the topic or check their veracity.
